About Nanoplasty
What is Nanoplasty?
Nanoplasty is a premium hair-smoothing treatment designed to reduce frizz and improve smoothness, softness, shine and manageability.
At That Nano Chic, Colleen uses professional, formaldehyde-free Nanoplasty formulas and tailors the treatment to your individual hair, condition and desired result.
Which Nanoplasty products do you use?
At That Nano Chic, Colleen works with professional Nanoplasty products from Floractive Professional and Pink Chic.
Floractive is one of the original pioneers of Nanoplasty technology. The professional hair-care brand was founded in Brazil and develops Nanoplasty formulas designed for different hair types, textures and treatment goals.
Colleen also uses Liss Brazil by Pink Chic, a professional formaldehyde-free Nanoplasty formula available through the Pink Chic range.
The product used for your appointment is chosen according to your hair type, condition, colour history and the result you want to achieve - because the best Nanoplasty treatment isn’t necessarily the same for every head of hair.
What is the difference between Nanoplasty and keratin treatments?
Both treatments are designed to make hair smoother, shinier and easier to manage, but they work differently and can produce different levels of straightening.
Nanoplasty uses amino acids, proteins and other smoothing ingredients to reduce frizz and soften the hair while creating a smoother finish. Keratin treatments generally focus more heavily on coating and smoothing the hair fibre.
The best option depends on your hair type, condition and the result you want to achieve.
Will Nanoplasty make my hair completely straight?
Nanoplasty can create a significantly straighter, smoother finish, but it does not have to produce dead-straight hair. The final result can be customised and varies from person to person.
Your natural texture, curl pattern, hair condition, previous treatments and desired finish all affect the result. Colleen will assess your hair and discuss what can realistically be achieved before your treatment begins.
Can Nanoplasty reduce frizz without removing my curls?
Yes. Nanoplasty does not have to mean completely straight hair. The treatment can be tailored to reduce frizz, soften the hair and improve manageability while still allowing you to keep some or all of your natural curl pattern.
If your goal is smoother, more controlled curls rather than dead-straight hair, let Colleen know before your appointment. She can assess your curl pattern, hair condition and desired finish and tailor the treatment accordingly.
How long does Nanoplasty last?
Nanoplasty results can last for several months, with many clients enjoying smoother, more manageable hair for approximately 6–8 months.
Longevity varies depending on your hair type, hair growth, aftercare routine, washing frequency and overall hair condition.
How long does a Nanoplasty appointment take?
Most Nanoplasty appointments take approximately 2.5–4 hours, although very long, thick or dense hair may take longer.
Appointment time depends on your hair length, density, texture and the amount of product and styling time required.
Where is That Nano Chic located?
That Nano Chic is located in Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Colleen provides professional Nanoplasty hair-smoothing treatments for clients from Bli Bli and across the Sunshine Coast.
Suitability & Hair Condition
Is Nanoplasty suitable for my hair?
Nanoplasty can be suitable for many hair types, including wavy, curly, frizzy, coarse and difficult-to-manage hair.
Every head of hair is different. Previous colouring, bleaching, chemical services, damage, porosity and overall condition need to be considered before treatment.
Colleen will assess your hair and recommend the safest and most appropriate approach for your individual hair and goals.
Can I have Nanoplasty on coloured or bleached hair?
Nanoplasty can often be performed on coloured or lightened hair, but suitability depends on the condition and strength of the hair.
Heavily bleached, compromised or fragile hair may need additional assessment before proceeding. Colleen will evaluate your colour history and hair condition and advise you on the safest option.
Should I colour my hair before or after Nanoplasty?
The best timing depends on the type of colour service you are having.
Nanoplasty may affect the appearance of existing colour, so it is important to plan colouring and lightening services around your treatment. Let Colleen know about upcoming colour appointments so she can recommend the correct timing for your hair.
Is Nanoplasty safe and formaldehyde-free?
That Nano Chic uses professional formaldehyde-free Nanoplasty products, including formulas from Floractive Professional and Liss Brazil by Pink Chic.
Before proceeding, Colleen considers your hair condition, previous chemical services and any other factors that may affect treatment suitability. A patch or sensitivity test may also be recommended where appropriate.
Can I have Nanoplasty while pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please speak with Colleen before booking so your individual circumstances can be discussed.
You may also wish to check with your doctor or healthcare professional before having any professional hair-smoothing treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

- Short Hair: from $330

- Long Hair: from $450
- Extra Long Hair: from $600
These are starting prices. Final pricing depends on your hair length, density, texture, condition and the amount of time and product required.

What is included in my Nanoplasty appointment?
Your appointment includes an assessment of your hair, preparation of the hair, application of the Nanoplasty treatment and the professional drying and heat-sealing process required to achieve your finished result.
Colleen will also discuss your aftercare and recommend the best way to maintain your results at home. Any optional additional services will be discussed before proceeding.
How do I know which hair-length option to book?
Choose the option that most closely matches your current hair length.
If you are between lengths, have particularly thick hair or are not sure which option applies, send Colleen a clear photo of your hair before booking. She can help you choose the most appropriate option.
How do I book an appointment?

If you are unsure which service to choose, send a clear photo of your hair along with information about your hair history and the result you would like to achieve. Colleen can guide you before your appointment is confirmed.
Is a deposit required?
A deposit may be required to secure your appointment. Any deposit, balance payment and booking requirements will be explained when your appointment is confirmed.
If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please give as much notice as possible. Any applicable cancellation or rescheduling conditions will be provided with your booking.
Aftercare
When can I wash my hair after Nanoplasty?
Unlike some traditional smoothing treatments, Nanoplasty does not generally require you to leave your hair unwashed for several days.
Colleen will give you specific instructions for the product used on your hair and explain when you can wash it after your appointment.
What shampoo and products should I use after Nanoplasty?
Gentle, sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner are recommended to help protect your Nanoplasty treatment and keep your hair feeling smooth, soft and healthy.
Colleen can recommend suitable professional aftercare products, including products from the Pink Chic Hair Care range, based on your individual hair.
Can I swim, exercise or use heat tools after Nanoplasty?
Yes. You can continue to exercise, swim and style your hair after Nanoplasty, but good aftercare will help your results last longer.
Chlorine and salt water can be drying, so rinse and care for your hair after swimming. When using hairdryers, straighteners or other heated styling tools, use appropriate heat protection and avoid unnecessary excessive heat.
When will I need my next Nanoplasty treatment?
Most clients return when natural regrowth becomes noticeable or when they would like to refresh the smoothness through their lengths.
Your maintenance schedule depends on how quickly your hair grows, your natural texture and how your existing treatment is wearing. Future appointments may focus more heavily on the regrowth while refreshing the previously treated lengths as required.
